Ghosting procedure - NOT over PG/ethernet - PCU50.3 HMI Adv

Robqm Posts: 16 Rating: (1)	Hello, I need a procedure to perform a ghost backup to the HDD on the control - NOT onto a PG or other PC. I have a customer that has to make an image and I do not have a control at my disposal to walk through the steps in order to write my own procedure. I found the document "Ghost Backup-XP-Service center present.pdf" but it is for backup using cross cable and is missing a few steps I need. Does anyone have a document or can spell out the steps required to make the backup onto one of the HDD partitions? Many thanks, Rob

In Servcie center you have option for taking local partition image...in this you get C,E,F....this informations will be available in D drive Images directory....once you have though with this copy it via USB and keep it..... I was told(by my Siemens sales rep) that the image must be done from the Service center that is entered before XP is booted. If that is possible, I will have my customer write the image directly to a USB key on the back of the OP. Cheers

makaveli Posts: 259 Rating: (5)	Hi, Yes you can make ghost image directly on USB but one tip for you connect this usb device from the back. Because in front you can have USB first generation (slow) and from the behind they are 4 usb ports second generation (much faster). And when you make backup of the whole disc that can cause big difference in time. With regards, makaveli
