Give a second network to Siemens PLC

umiguelc Posts: 11 Rating: (1)	Hello, Recently one of our clients ask us to give visibility to our machines on its industrial LAN. We use PLC from siemens but with only one ethernet port, so we cannot provide the plc other address into the industial LAN. The idea is to get some information from the PLCs using an OPC server (Simatic .NET V13) running into a server under the industrial LAN. Our local dealer from siemens sugested us this device but I think it is beyond our requirements. https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/es/es/pv/6GK5615-0AA00-2AA2/td Do you know how can I make this routing? But depend on the PLC you use you can extend on the PLC Rack a IE CP so you have 2 Ethernetinterfaces on the PLC. Which PLC you use? Regards Christoph

For ET200SP new Ethernet CP is available with TIA V14 http://w3.siemens.com/mcms/industrial-communication/en/ie/system-interfacing/distributed-controller-simatic-et200sp/Pages/Default.aspx If you can wait you should check if you can use this CP's or if not then you should use the S615 or some other LAN Router. Now in your case , it difficult to comment because we dont know which PLC are you using. For example, S7 1516 PLC having two different IP address port on CPU its self. So you can segregate the two different network. If you S7 1200 PLC having single PN port then you can not connect extra Ethernet communication processor to S7 1200. In this case you need the ethernet switch to connect other network. So plz provide the details about PLC and other Devices If you feel this post is useful then don't forget to rate.
