Global Script Problem

thidalgo Posts: 68 Rating: (0)	Hi to everybody, I've a problem with my Wincc Application. I'm running wincc 6.0 SP3 over windows Xp SP2 Working withthe global script editor, this often becomes freezed. My CPU usage percent for the Global script task goes to 100 % and the applicationnever responds again. The solution is abort the taskwith the windows task manager. Why happen this fail ? , is possible not to abort the task for solve it ? , I'm continously losing my work. Thanks a lot.

Do you findmandatory the upgrade to fit this issue ? My problem is to update several development machines and obtain an official copy of SP4 to attach to the client within the project.

Upgrading WinCC means you also need to upgrade any options/software used, such as WebNavigator, Simatic NET, Step7. Details are in the FAQ Nemo posted above. You do not mention which Global Script Editor you are using, C or VBS. If it is the VBS Editor then installing Hotfix 2 for SP3 will probably resolve the problem. One more thing about upgrades: while WebNavigator and Simatic Net upgrades are available online and can be upgraded to become compatible with your new version of WinCC, note that the Step7 license for v5.3 sp2 will not work for sp3, and that WinCC v6 SP4 is not compatible with Step7 v5.3 sp2 or older versions! And also: if you upgrade your computer you'll also have to update all of your clients computers, since WinCC is not downwards compatible, which means that once your project has been edited on sp4 it will not work completely under sp3!
