I've the same problem on two different Laptop, with WIN10 OS with different VM,

Go online with PLC and after 30 sec communication fail

Both with TIA14 and 15, connecting with 1500CPU

(didn't check 1200 but with 300 communication is ok)

I remember similar problem communicating with CU of S120

I try different settings with VM (bridged auto or not, etc...) but problem still exist

Every helps is glad for me

Disable anti Virus scanner and Firewall on Host and VM for testing.

Try to connect with a direct cable not with Companies network switch.

I've already installed the last Update on my Zbook HP

The same problem happens with TIA14 connecting on 1500CPU and SCOUT on S120, both with ethernet than wireless connection;

i found the trouble also on another Laptop (Probook from HP), but a strange thing is that on another 3 identical Machines (buyed in the same period) everithing is OK

I suppose is a problem connected with WIN10 update; at the moment I solved installing all on the phisical machine, but VM is very confortable for back up.

Check also latest VM Ware Updates and also update then your VM Ware Tools.
