Abdel-Qader Silver Member Joined: 1/5/2013 Last visit: 11/22/2024 Posts: 283 Rating: (16)	I have a CPU-to-CPU communication using GPRS direct mode one CPU as active and the other as passive. The connection is established and when I did stop-start it is connected automatically without any problems but after one day and a half the connection is lost and we need to wait between 30 to 45 minutes in order to reestablished again automatically or if we do power off- on at the passive CPU the connection is established automatically without wait for 30-45 minutes. Any ideas? Thanks

Which connection mode is enabled? 3. Can your provider confirm, that they did not interrupt the connection/session once in a day? 4. Did you tried diagnostics message> signal strength?

Abdel-Qader Silver Member Joined: 1/5/2013 Last visit: 11/22/2024 Posts: 283 Rating: (16)	Hello, 1- No, the CPU is installed in 10u rack inside IT data center (servers and network switches). 2- Connection mode is direct mode. 3- The provider Confirmed that, we already asked them this question. 4- Regarding the signal strength, the GPRS radio signal is excellent now, there was a problem in this in the CPU with passive connection and now it is very good since the provider installed an antenna near to the CP1242-7 antenna. I see we have two problems: a- why the connection is disconnected, between us i don't care too much about this point if the connection established very quick without to wait that long period (30-45 minutes). b- why after a day when the connection is disconnected it needs long time to reestablish again, or power off-on the CPU and also the CP1242-7 (Passive CPU) after that the connection is established automtically within 20-25 seconds? i'm thinking it is a CP1242-7 problem, maybe after a day its buffer or connection memory is full and it needs 30-45 minutes to clear that memory.

Abdel-Qader Silver Member Joined: 1/5/2013 Last visit: 11/22/2024 Posts: 283 Rating: (16)	Hello olloy, the CPDIAG sms to the passiveCPU: CP 1242-7 V1.3.6 CPU State:RUN GPRS logged in Attach: - NETWORK: provider network name IP: x.x.x.x (Fixed IP with private APN) Signal Quality: good RSSI: 31 i'm talking about the buffer issue (maybe) since if you stop one of the CPUs after the power off-on several times the connection is established automatically within 20-25 seconds but after day or two days i tried to stop the passive CPU the connection is not established again until after 30-45 minutes.
