Hello suraj; I would recommend the following link tothe online Installation Guide for Profibus, from PI (www.profibus.com): http://www.profibus.com/wbt/WBT_Assembly_V10_Dec06/en/Seiten/2_6_0_ErdungPotentialausgleich.html The chapter that it takes you to is concerned with "Grounding and Equipotential Bonding" of Profibus network. Even though it might be just a bit too general in its scope it does provide a good explanation of the concepts required to provide good grounding in a Profibus installation. It especially takes the time to distinguish Functional Earth and Ground, and explains the bonding techniquesrequired to protect a network. Thisshould be a good start for your analysis.
