Peter Posts: 83 Rating: (8)	Hi All, maybe this question is really basic but I could not find the answer myself [:blush:] I have a group object with a name "MyGroup" and consist of 1 rectangle, 1 Polygon. I want to send the group name to a internal variable when I click the rectangle member. The group name should be automatically assigend and not "Hard coded", that means I am looking for a function that can give the rectangle mother group name. Anybody has an idea? Please inform. There are 4 types of GetProp: - GetPropBOOL - GetPropChar - GetPropDouble - GetPropWord When the function is called from the member of group and leaving the parameter as default (GetPropChar(LPCTSTR lpszPictureName, LPCTSTR lpszObjectName, LPCTSTR lpszPropertyName) then it will return the object name who called this function, e.g. Rectangle1 and not my group name. The only possibility using this function is typing the group name (parameter lpszObjectName) - hardcoded which I do not want. By copying the group I have to retype again the code. I am looking a function like GetParentPicture for example. Thanks, Peter

Here are some words from WinCC Online Help: Introduction Here you will find the following instructions for editing a customized object with VBA: Creating a customized object from selected objects Ungrouping a customized object Deleting a customized object Note: It is not possible to configure a customized object with VBA. So... after reading this NOTE I assumed that customized object can not e configured. O maybe this is a translation error again from WinCC German edition to English?

In this case I could use the lpszObjectName for my code. Thanks Jaapie [:D] This week end would be long since I have to rewrite again my code.[:mad:]
