Grouping Elements in WinCC (Frame)

christianh Posts: 55 Rating: (0)	Hello! What type of Control are you using to group some elements within your user interface? Please have a look at the Attachment, i was looking for an element like this. I am not able to find a WinCC Control like this, so i have tried to use the "Microsoft Forms 2.0 Frame"-Control - but unfortunately when saving the picture it gets broken. i have tried to build it on my own, but turned into issues because of the caption and resizability when just grouping two borders. antonio_dvt Posts: 17 Rating: (0)	I I guess you are looking for the object "Picture Window" it's available in the object pallete, inside the Smart objects. This object have the property of display's differents pictures, you only program a dynamic value in the property "Picture Name" to set the file .pdl that you want this object displays. If you array two or three of this objects you can set a frame for your windows. regards

Its because on some pictures i have up to 10 several "groups", and i do not want to overload my picture-count that much by have 11 pictures for just one displayed version, then... can you understand me? also, the style of the border and caption when using the "picture window" is not as like as i would like to have them. :-( i have also tried to do it manually, but this is not working very well... the caption-background could not be transparent, because the border of the square would cross the caption-text then... not that nice. My question to you is: How do you display several groups of buttons and texts on just on picture? I would be glad for any help. Chris

In the attachment, you can see my suggestion.I did it so: 1. Take (rounded)- rectangle - rightclick > "properties" > "color" - Background Color ligth gray (Row 4 column 2) like background color. 2. Take Static Text - rightclick > "properties" > "color" - Border Color ligth gray (Row 4 column 2) like background color. 3. Select both objekts - rightclick "Group objekt" > "Group" So you have one objekt. All these objekts you should do in layer 0 and the buttons and so on in layer 1 or higher, as you need. I already had tried something similar, but unfortunately i need transparency of the text-element (the caption) too, because my background has some color gradient, from dark grey to light grey... this looks that ugly when having a rectangular around the caption. christianh Posts: 55 Rating: (0)	Hello gbs, right, and i am very happy of it ... unfortunately, when i apply transparency to the background of the static text, the borders of the rectangular behind the text would come visible again... as shown at the screenshot above... ...the more i try, the more i think there is no way to do a workaround... this control has to be inserted into wincc from the scratch... Chris

TommyGun Posts: 15 Rating: (0)	hi christianh there is an other thing you can do, but its not very good to handle. Draw the frame as single lines. Take a textbox with transparent background Group this lines and textbox the Problem: you have to fix the distance between lines on top and the text for each frame. If you use layers, it should be ok. regards TommyGun
