Hello Chemma; A S7-400H CPU cannot act as a Profibus-DP slave, so there is no gsd file you can use. A S7-400H can be setup as a DP-master, and you can connect a S7-1200 as a DP-slave by using a CP 1242-5 Profibus slave module. The gsd file for the CP 1242-5 can be founds in this link: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/113652 One important thing: a S7-400H cannot be programmed in TIA Portal, only with Simatic Manager (Step 7 v5.x) One last point: if you are e S7-400H as a standalone CPU (not as a redundant pair), you can connect the CP 1242-5 directly to the DP port of the CPU (or to a CP 443-5 EXT module). If you are using the CPU 414-5H as part of a redundant pair , then you must use a Y-link between the H-CPUs and the slave(s). How is the Y link structured? https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/43688632 How do you configure an S7-300 CPU or a CP342-5 as DP slave to an S7-400H as DP master using a Y-link? Microman and eisenpferdreiter provide good information on the subject in this discussion: S7-400H connect via Y-Link to CM1242-5 Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
