In the Fieldbus Options box, select FBPA-Profibus(3) for example.

I really do not suggest you modify and existing gsd file using the GSD-Edit program unless you know all the information that is required for an adequate interface with the slave. The GSD-Edit software is originally intended for manufacturers of DP slaves so they can issue a vendor-independant configuration file that is unique for every slave, once it has been certified.

A very high kudos for your work on this forum: you practically make things easy for the site members.

However I really need the gsdedit program v4.1 that you posted on the forum. But the download require a user name and password  which my normal site login (username and password) is not working for. Please can you provide the required username and password.

I find it strange that a login/password should be required for the download of the gsd editor file, at least for me there seems to be no problem. I will attach the zip file with this message.

The problem you might have is the version of OS you are working with. Messages of the type "Mrcex42.dll is missing" are, to my experience, linked to files that were generated for Win 2000 or Win 95 (I proposed the gsd editor file in 2008...). Trying to launch them with Windows 7 can bring this type of message up. So look at websites such as this one that propose solutions if the p^roblem arises:

Do you mean manufacturer gsd files? Each manufacturer is now responsible to update and make available the gsd files for the slave it proposes.
On the Product support page at the top of this window for example you can download gsd fles for differnt Siemens slaves. Open the link, do a Search on "gsd files", click on the download selector and you will find many downloads available for free.
If it is the GSD Editor you want, here is an executable file for version 4.1.

But be careful when you use it. If you modify a manufacturer's gsd file for your own needs, then the file you use in your ptroject will no longrer be "standard" and your application will require your to keep a copy of the modified gsd file when you transfer it to another system...
