GSD file from DP/PA coupler

Hi all,

I have some problems and questions about GSD file from HW Config in step 7 Simatic Manager. 

1) GSD file from IM 153-2 6ES7 153-2BA70-0XB0 haven't in my software, I search and see that I can use 6ES7 153-2BA82-0XB0, that's correct?

2) DP/PA coupler 6ES7 157-0AC85-0XA0 I don't find some GSD file, how can I configure this DP/PA in my software, have some file to do it?

1) From the attached file you can see that the description of the modules is similar, so you can probably use the iM 153-2BA82 as a stand-in for the IM 153-2BA70. The -2BA82 was discontinued in 2015, the -2BA70 must be available in a newer version of Step 7.

2) The DP/PA couplers are never setup in the hardware configuration of the program.

If your goal is to insert a PA instrument directly to the Profibus-DP bus using a coupler, use the instruments gsd file to load it as a slave to the DP-master ; just make sure the speed of the network is set at 45,45 kB (for every node).

If you want to setup a DP/DPA link, you need a IM 163-2 to isolate and connect the PA instruments from the DP network (at any selectable speed up to 12 MB), and follow the instructions in the commissioning chapter of the manual below:

Very helpful your answer, now I have another doubtfulness. I have a remote rack that has only one IM 153-2 and 2 DP/PA Coupler, could I let rack blank in HW config?

And about IM -2BA10-, what IM could I use in HW config?

Now, i am the one who is getting confused...

One of your remote racks is composed of an IM 153-2 plus 2 DP/PA couplers. Sounds like you are building a DP/PA link. Was that your intention? Do you have many instruments to connect to the DP-master in that area? 

And what do you mean by "letting the rack blank in HW Config"? Why would you setup a remote rack in your configuration and not use it?

Second: where did that IM 153-2AB10 come from, all of a sudden6 Normally this IM part number should be included in your Profibus catalog, where you select slaves for your Profibus network, in HW Config...

About DP/PA, it's in project (new project) but I really don't know if has PA instruments, so disregard this point.

About IM153-2-2BA10-, is the IM to use for remote I/O, in my Hw Config I don't find it. About Profibus catalog, I don't get it, what you mean? I'm send a print from my HW config

The screenshot you show has the Profibus catalog open (at the right of the picture). Next to the capton "IM 153-2..." there is a little cross that you can click on to open the selection of the particular model of IM you can choose for your application.

Unfortunately I do nothave access to Step 7 v5.5 anymore, so I cannot show you xactly the same view as you are using. But allow me to show you same view in TIA Portal , you will see the parallels.
