Hello SOble; The complete and official GSD definition documentation is reserved for PI (Profibus International) members, unfortunately. See the following Download page from PI, open the topic "Device Integration" and notice the key icon next to the majority of the documents there (the key stands for "Reserved to members"). http://www.profibus.com/download/ You might find what you are looking for (by inference) if you study these links: http://profibus.felser.ch/en/index.html?gsd_dateien.htm http://www.codelooker.com/dfilec/35006GSDSpecification3Docs/GSD_DP.PDF Look around page 32 of the last document. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Thy for an answer. I have download GSD file directly from manufacturer device website. In my case Basler company(DECS250 device name). Once I install their GSD file and once I add any module I'm getting diagnostic messages: -DP slave not ready yet for data exchange -Different configuration data -Watchdog activated |

As you pointed out these messages are after I download settings to PLC in online mode inside diagnostic tab. Point is all I got from my slave is: 1. To enter an profibus address 2. To specify LSB or MSB 3. I have profibus parameters table 4. GSD file from their website Since points 1. and 2. are clear I have been looking point 3. I can not edit parameter table or change something from Slave software. Table is written inside PDF manual and that's is it. From the slave manual it is not clear how to access specific data inside table so I have started to look hex bytes inside GSD file and parameter table inside slave manual. GSD file is attached. From the GSD file you can see there are defined modules for input bytes, words same as outputs. Once I add 1 byte, 2 bytes, 1 word, 2 words or multiple words as inputs or outputs inside my hardware configuration I'm getting messages from previous post as I mentioned. No any combination get data to be exchanged. I have to mention that I dont know where are these bytes/words point inside slave parameter table. Inside GSD file next to module definition are some hex numbers and I dont know are they in any relation with slave parameter table. I can post my project too but here there is more from problem Nope I can not download any configuration to the slave, all I can change inside slave device are points 1. and 2. Slave device is ordered to support profibus and PLC is s7-315-2 PN/DP with integrated DP SF led is red BF1 led is red BF2 blinks red AttachmentBASL0D1F.txt (227 Downloads) |

Hello, In step7, in the slave slot definition, the first slot should be an universal module of 44 input bytes. If the slave accepts that, try now to read the datausing SFC14. |
Best regards |

Thx for ur try too but I have tried that and it does not work. This what you see on my picture is the same just with instance number 209 and it consits of 7 floats. I have tried as u said first instance too. I also have tried taking group of bytes and words with of course same amount of bytes, but still nope. I have contact Basler tech support but yet no sny single response. Problem is maybe how to point on specific instance |
