Dear Mathew, I am sorry... I was investigating some more now and I seewhat you talk about. Yes, the 7SJ61 seems to have an interface for the IEC 61850. I am not sure ifthe IEC 61850is based uponthe ISO on TCP protocol, itmight also beTCP based. But as my knowledge about SIPROTEC and IEC 61850 is not really good... as you surely noticed from my first reply, I would recommendcontacting the Transmission & Distribution as SIEMENS Energy Support. I hope the people there may help you some more. Best regards J_Bell |

Hi Mathew and J_Bell The correct support is the provider for these blocks for S7, not the customer support from Energy Automation. They will support you in the Siprotec configuration side, but not on Simatic or Netpro. Areyou using these blocks for S7? http://www.industry.siemens.com/industrial-services/it/en/PRODUCTS/SIMATIC_ADD_ONS/S7_IEC61850.HTM In this same site youhave the contact data. If you want to check if your Siprotec is properly configured and able to communicate via IEC61850, use this software. It's free and works for any device with 61850-Server interface. http://siemens.siprotec.de/download_neu/software/IEC_Browser/IEC61850_Browser.zip Mike J |

HiMathew Sorry, but I have never used these blocks. I have experience in Siprotec, IEC61850 and Sicam, so I can help youwith these ones. I have S7 knowledge, but I never worked with these blocks, I just know howthe process is done. And I know that it access Siprotec the same way IEC Browser does. With a Webbrowser put the address of your Siprotec device as this: http://x.x.x.x/home/printf. You will see the ethernet modul page. Save this page and send to me. Also what you can do is to use a ethernet sniffer and see exactly what S7 is sending to the network. I recommend using this one: http://www.sisconet.com/downloads/mms_ethereal_install_v120.exe Mike J |
