The setting of "Other Station" is made "Ethernet", and if it is necessary, it only has to register Internet Protocol address with the MAC address. It would be greatly appreciated if it could help you.

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear Methew, are you sure that the SIPROTEC relays have an Ethernet interface on board now? I personally doubt it... but how can I be sure. The only thing I am sure about is that ISO on TCP Protocol only works on industrial Ethernet. Best regards J_Bell

mathew Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Hi Bell, Actually the relay which iam using is having optical port and i have connected this through FO cable to a ruggedcom switch .Now what i want to do is Communicate this 7SJ61 relay (IEC61850 server) to my client(CPU 417-4H).I have configured the Server station as other station in netpro and given the IP of the relay.But i could not establish the correct communication with the 61850server and client.I am using the 61850 communication blocks.Can u please guide me . J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear Mathew, I am sorry... I was investigating some more now and I seewhat you talk about. Yes, the 7SJ61 seems to have an interface for the IEC 61850. I am not sure ifthe IEC 61850is based uponthe ISO on TCP protocol, itmight also beTCP based. But as my knowledge about SIPROTEC and IEC 61850 is not really good... as you surely noticed from my first reply, I would recommendcontacting the Transmission & Distribution as SIEMENS Energy Support. They will support you in the Siprotec configuration side, but not on Simatic or Netpro. If you want to check if your Siprotec is properly configured and able to communicate via IEC61850, use this software. mathew Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Hi Mike, We are trying to communicate with a IEC 61850 server and S7 417-4H controller as IEC61850 client. Testing is carried out with the 61850 library and the configuration is done according to document. We are facing some issues in establishing the communication.I am using the same library and i have tried with the 61850 Iec_browser and this will communicating but i could not be able to take the tag to the S7417-4H controller this will act as my 61850 client.Here i am attaching some screen shots also please go through it.I think my configuration in step7 and passing the parameters like IED Name,Data setname and Address passing is having problem. I have experience in Siprotec, IEC61850 and Sicam, so I can help youwith these ones. I have S7 knowledge, but I never worked with these blocks, I just know howthe process is done. And I know that it access Siprotec the same way IEC Browser does. With a Webbrowser put the address of your Siprotec device as this: http://x.x.x.x/home/printf. You will see the ethernet modul page. Save this page and send to me. Also what you can do is to use a ethernet sniffer and see exactly what S7 is sending to the network.
