Our existing system has already available CP341 module running in master mode with hardware dongle. Actually first and foremost what is the hardware dongle? is it a software that I need to installed? since our system has available cp341 running, thats it mean I can add cp341 using the same dongle on the existing module? Furthermore, can I set cp341 as a master without hardware dongle? if yes can you give me some sample how to do it? Regards,

The hardware dongle is a memory moduleplugged into the back of the CP341. Siemens offers additional protocols "loadable drivers"such as Modbus RTU Master which needto be transferred via the HW-Config ontothat dongle.Sowhen you order aloadable driver you will get that dongle with it. PCS 7 ...since our system has available cp341 running, thats it mean I can add cp341 using the same dongle on the existing module? You can use/re-use thatdonglein any other CP341 but the driver will run on the CP withthe hardware dongle installed only. PCS 7 Furthermore, can I set cp341 as a master without hardware dongle? if yes can you give me some sample how to do it? Yes, you can write your ownsoftware driver or use mine. Anyway can you explain the difference of the two? which requires cpu stop in order to be installed?
