With the advance programming we can easily prepare a PLC code from excel using macro code. I want to know if we can prepare a tool in excel that can create the whole hardware configuration that we can import in Simatic manager. For modifying the inside parameter we have to use hardware configuration. But at least if we can create the basic hardware by adding CPU, IO and CP etc.

I think is possible, but something talk to me that not 100% properly. I'll be start with configuring simple HW in Step7 and try exporting via some Option, also Import I think exists. If you export for first, you'll probably see internal structure of file, so you can investigate next. I must say that never tested.

Export AND Import of HW-konfig is possible.

But I do not know any Excel - Tool that can generate an Import - File.

Test the Simatic Selection Tool that may have this feature in future.

You can Use the reverse procedure to develop your own way, You can do a hardware configuration for your mostly used system, then Export your configuration in .cfg file (which you can open using Notepad), You can then analyze your data to know how the modules are placed and got their parameters

Then I think you may develop your own Excel sheet that can be saved an .txt file and then I am not sure if you changed it to .cfg file and import it to Hardware configuration will it work? I think this shall be tried

Since this is Industrial Software General topic, I'm not sure are you talking about SM classic exclusively, or with TIA Portal world included. Possible solutions for Simatic Manager classic have already been proposed (export -edit in Excel or similar - import).

For TIA world please see TIA Openness. I didn't find it very helpfull (it has a lot of limitation), but it's possible to export / import hardware configuration / network configuration to XML files, which can be edited in external applications.
