Hello VishP, I have been facing quite similar problem recently, regarding connection of OP177B and CP S5-115U. There are two topics regarding connection of newer HMIs with S5, so check them out: /tf/WW/en/Posts/33734 and /tf/WW/en/Posts/50510 . Thing is that the new panels don't have the TTY/AS511 connection. There are, however, reductions - from RS232 to TTY (I think this one is being phased out) and from RS422 to TTY (check out http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/22150363), which can be used for OP77A/B (in your case I think you can choose, as OP77B should have both of these ports). For connectiong through RS422/TTY converter you also need SP2 for WinCC flexible 2008, where the regarding stuff has been implemented, for RS232 I don't know, as I did not research in this particular direction. Anyway hope this helps, perhaps others can give you some more tips also, I am not that familiar with S5 stuff, so perhaps there are some specific details regarding your specific model. |
