Hello Frankyphs; Congratulations on the new job, you will have to learn so many details on Siemens equipment to be able to answer alll the questions from your clients. Luck, and patience! Concerning HART protocol versions, the table you will find here describes the differences between HART verions 5, 6 and 7: https://support.fieldcommgroup.org/support/solutions/articles/8000048834-hart-5-7-comparisons Transmitters with different HART versions can be used on the same network, all HART verions are backward compatible, and use the same transmission speed (1.2 kb/s) over 4-20 mA signals.. Simply the larger number of features and optional connections (such as wireless HART) will not be accessible on the HART v5 modules. https://control.com/forums/threads/hart-versions.36454/ Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
