Heidenhain encoder and SMC20 compatibility

martin_antonio_r Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hi all. We have a big problem with a big machine and a faulty SMC20. We have a Heidenhain ST 3007 linear 11uA encoder, then a Heidenhain 313 119-01 to convert to 1vpp This configuration work's with a Heidenhain encoder tester, we can read as 1vpp signal without problems. The problem is: with this converter the SMC20 goes to fault. (red led) With a ST 3087 encoder (same 3007 but 1vpp) obviously without converter thereis no problem. We already look in SMC20 manual and configuration seem to be correct but simply doesn't work. PIN SIGNAL 1Sensor power supply 2Sensor ground 3A+ 4A- 6B+ 7B- 145 volt sense 160 volt sense 17R+ 18R- Any idea why doesn't work? Thanks in advance Sorry for the bad english

One for a Heidenhain system and one for a Siemens system. The pinout is slightly different. I don't know if this is the problem but maybe worth checking. Pee

Probably You receive "Hardware failure encoder" and additionaly an Alarm "2xx xxx" in the CNC. Starting from alarmnumber "xxxxx" You can find more details in the SINAMICS-documentation. (or post this information here) Please make sure the pins 14 and 16 are connected to 0V/5V correctly. Does the 313119-01 support these sensor signals? (I did not verify Your posted listing of signals, but it looks reliable) hope that helps CNC600

The HMI only shows encoder error.The 1vpp sensor was working and we can't find the same sensor so we intend to replace with 11uA and converter without success. In fact this converter doesn´t have information, technical manual or something. The pinout was given by Heidenhain extra officialy, andcan't help uswith Siemens stuff. (I Try) Thanks

Please try to find the actual encoder error, generated by SINAMICS: 1st opportunity: check in the HMI the screen ==> Diagnosis ==> Drive diagnosis. There You can open the faulty drive and You get all drive specific alarms and warnings 2nd opportunity: check the parameter r0945 (error) and r0947 (detailsfor error) and parameter r2122 (warning) and r2124 (details for warning) this parameters are Arrays - 945&947 and 2122&2124 with the same index are the corresponding values to detect the origin of the encoderalarm. additionaly: check parameter p404 (Enc-configuration) and r455 (Enc-configuration, detected). (ofcourse: check all these parameters only in the faulty drive!) hope that helps CNC600 ****************************************** I checked Your specified pin configuration, it's OK for a SMC20.
