As i'm a automation student how can i do to exerce myself with it? i've just downdl S5S7 for windows , but has someone ideas about the cable i need and some *.s5d to improve my knowledge? thanks.

I would suggest to purchase a USB programming (20 mA TTY) cable foryourSiemens S90U CPU. The S5S7 Programming Software you are using comes with a Simulator. Give it a try. If you have a contact at your local Siemens Office they maybe able to help you and "donate" some of their old demo equipment. Regards / m.f.g

And thanks so much for your quick answer and for the s5 exemples . the hardwr that i recovered from the trash is a 6ES5 090-8MA1 + 6ES5 452-8MR1. they are old and dirty but they work. i tested them. i'm now looking to use them with my computer and a cable. What do i need for that ? Thanks again.
