I am troubleshooting a S5-115U PLC being used for a blow molding application. It contains CP581, IP252 & IP244 modules besides the regular DI/DO/AI/AO ones. Initially the keyboard interface port of the CP581 was found to be faulty. After rectifying the problem, it is been observed that neither of the three LEDs( viz. RUN, STOP & BUSY) are lit. Although the monitor connected to CP581 does show the process screens, it does not display online (i.e. CPU) values. Interestingly, neither of the standard FBs (viz. SEND, RECIEVE, SEND-ALL, RECEIVE-ALL, FETCH or even SYNCHRON) blocks are being called in the S5 user program (available in the EPROM), which is not exactly the way i understood from the CP581 manual. Again, I am told that this system has been running for a couple of years. Apparently I should not doubt the S5 user program, but still its strange that none of the DHBs are referred to and still itsbeen working!!! As per the manual, if neither of the three LEDs are lit, it suggests loading of the CPDHB driver. Where do i get the CPDHB driver ?
