Help with analog flow meter. I have an analog meter 4-20mA and I have to measure this flow via plc, but can not cnfigurar HI-Lim of the FC105, always wrong, how do I set up, please put an example. thank you |

Hello Martins; 2 things I notice in your jpg: - you have set the Bipolar parameter to 1, which makes the FC105 expoect an input value (from PIW438) to be in a range of -27648 to +27648, Since your LO_Limit is 0.0, I would use a FALSE (or 0) value for Bipolar, -The input signal is presently higher than the standard expected range (a decimal value of 27648 for a PIWxxx address) so the output value is clamped at Hi_Limit, your HI_Limit parameteris setat 497.0 and your output is 497.0 What were you expecting different? What uis the maximum flow you expect your flowmeter to read? Use that numerical value as a HI_Limit value. Try setting the analog input value at different levels and see if the output changes in accordance to your input (you can use a 4-20 mA signal generator for that test). You could start by reading this FAQ: How and for which analog measurements can you use the function FC105 "SCALE" to convert the integer values (INT) into real number values? Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

I'll take a look here parents thought it was something in the power on the flow meter 4-20mA to a PLC. alias specifies otherwise have to connect this signal to the plc |

If you want give the type of flow meter (its order Nr.) and the type of analog input card (MLFB Nr.) in order to confirm wiring... best regards, Hristo Mihalev |

The flow meter and a Conaut IFC 090 F output 4 to 20 mA analog input I and a Siemens 6ES7 331-1KF02-0AB0, I made the connection as manual Siemens is attached. But the problem is the meter marking 5m ³ / h on my scale (FC105) is giving 31,040 PIW in which I burst in the measurement, but please help me there. My cable is connected according to the drawing circulated |

For me is not clear if there is necessary to connect in that way instead of 2-wire. Because according to value which you receive is above the limit as you understood from Daniel' post. I will check it again in Google about wiring. What value of incoming current did you receive there if you measure with multimeter? best regards, Hristo MIhalev |

It may even be no need and I'm wrong, because when I compare with the multimeter in volts 22 vdc carotene, found it very wrong but I'm not certeja, if you can confirm me about this setup thanks |

Hello, I believe you are mixing up a few things. Did you connect your flowmeter as shown in attached picture? You are measuring voltage with your multimeter, you should measure the current. Are you sure you set the analog input right in the hardware configuration? 4 wire 4-20mA it should be. Regards, Marcjan |
Problem solved? |

I set my right analog input, such as 4-20mA correntede the multimeter used to have a relationship mA to volts, only for testing. But still with this measurement error. See my setup |

You need to measure incoming mA to analog card. Put multimeter to measure mA and connect one + probe of multimeter in input "A". This input should be different in case of measure of voltage. Disconnect +I wire from pin 22 (from input card). Touch this wire with COM probe of multimeter. Whit the other probe A touch pin 22 in card. In this way you will read incoming current. In case that flow meter is 'empty' (no passing any liquid) you should read around 4,...mA. best regards, Hristo Mihalev |
