high speed counter

hello............,

i'm trying to get a high speed counter working as in the next video on youtube:

but instead of using a encoder i'am trying to do it with plcsim on i0.0, but somehow it isn't working. 

searching on the internet i can't find a lot of examples of programming high speed counters 

anyone tips of stuff with info

Are you talking about using the Siemens' software simulator?

TIP: The software simulator does not simulate everything.
Please get yourself some hardware to explore these functions.
Even the S7-1211 will do.
