HMI Alarm from a Digital Input Signal

AutoGen_5819022 Posts: 31 Rating: (0)	Hey guys, am currently working with Beckhoff BK 3120 Bus coupler along with PLC S7-1500 (1516-3 PN/DP). The software am using is Tia Portal V18. The PLC is connected to IPC477E 19'' Touch PN/IE that has Wincc Runtime Advanced V17. The Beckhoff coupler has a Digital Input terminal KL1808 (421KF2). The channel 1 of this terminal (421KF2/1) is connected to a cooling fan, which is inside a cabinet of a machine. When the Cabinet Temperature becomes high(>39°C), this digital input signal (421KF2/1) becomes TRUE. Is it possible to trigger a HMI Alarm using this Digital Input Signal?

jacek d Platinum Member Joined: 9/23/2005 Last visit: 4/18/2025 Posts: 4996 Rating: (758)	You have two options: declare a tag of WORD data type on IW8, and use HMI Discrete Alarms to configure an alarm triggered by this tag and selected bit, in a PLC make use of a Program_Alarm FB.
