HMI communication with S7400H through YLINK

Amit_86 Platinum Member Joined: 3/18/2008 Last visit: 12/8/2023 Posts: 1750 Rating: (272)	Dear All, In S7400H Project, i have MP 277, 10" TOUCH & YLINK. i have one doubt regarding Profibus communication of HMI with S7400H on YLINK. in Hardawre Configuration,is it required to hooked up HMI(GSD file) on Ylink or is it plug & Play kind of thing? any logic to be made for Redundancy in PLC? Thanks in advance.

But Here in my case i have to connect through YLINK because it isalerady available with me. i don't have bus repeater in my project so without bus repeater will above configuration run?

The MP277 HMI works as Profibus master while Y-Link is used to connect one sided DP-Slaves to S7-400-H. Please look at the second link in Darius' post. Make the difference between hardware and software redundant connection CPU->MP. In some cases software connection is not acceptable, depending of the project. Best regards, Hristo Mihalev

Best regards, Hristo Mihalev Dear Umencho/hdhosseini, i have choosen this communication on Profibus so as i have ordered Bus Repeaters. But i have some doubt regarding active bus terminator. is it mendatory to connect Active Bus terminator?
