Dear All, I design a system with HMI panel connect to Redundant S7-300 CPU 315-2DP (using SW redundancy). Please review wether I can use this configuration? Thanks & waiting for your reply! BR, Anhhk Attachment080801 SW redundant.pdf (847 Downloads) |

Hello Anhhk, I'm afraid this configuration is incorrect (regarding HMI). You can't connect the 2 Profibus networks like this and they are not to be connected by way or another. I justwant to comment on somethingin your drawing. The redundant linkcan't be Profibus because you didn't add CP 342-5. Ijust hope you know that redundant link must be one of the followings, 1- MPI (Just the 2 CPUs) 2- Profibus (CP342-5must be added to each CPU) 3- Ethernet (CP343-1must be added to each CPU) So, I think it's just a mistake and it should be MPI instead of Profibus in your drawing. Now we come to HMI, You can connect your HMIto the MPI network andyour network will be like this, HMI --- PLC A --- PLC B. Then you can do some programming to make an Automatic switch overin HMI using change control function in HMI. But you may suffer a little from slow communication because this single bus will have to transfer data between A&B all the time and will also be used for communication between Master PLC and HMI. You can download the manual and see how the HMI can be connected to SWR system in chapter 5 and 6 using MPI bus. Best regards. |

Here are some info that could be helpful eventhough it talks about H-system http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/22584322 But what I have normally done is to put the MP on the MPI link iwth each CPU having separate MPI address, Then you can have scripts in MP to switch the peer CPU address. You can use the status bit from redundancy DBs for triggering the scripts. |
