Eng.Tarek Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hello Guys Im having a problem and i hope i will find a help here. Im working with baggage handling system by vanderlande but all components are siemens. in the system there is S7-400 PLC which is communicating with two local control panels(each panel has OP73)with a profibus. thecommunication starting at the plc then it go to first paneland it'sOP73 and then profibus cable will go to the second local panel and it's OP where the communication stop and the ring end. the problem is that first panel is working very fine and it's OP73 is showing ON status but the second panel is not working at all and it's OP is showing OFF status. the problem is sure with communication but im not getting any error indication like BF error on the PLC. and i changed all the connectors and cables from the first to the second panel but its still OFF status. Im doubted that the OP73 female D-9 connector on the first panel is causing the problem. but im not sure. so can anyone help me and suggest what could be the problem and how to slove it. Thanks

Rated X Posts: 1547 Rating: (129)	Hi Eng.Tarek, have you checked all Terminators? First and last in the line (S7-400 and second panel) have to be "on", all others "off". And have you checked the directions of the connectors (little arrow on the connector)? Last and first arrow must point to the devices. You can also check if the second panel is working when you switch it with the first one (connect only this with the first cable). Regards, Rated X

So incomming line will be from CPU and then from each output to connect one panel. Because you said many times hardware is OK, let's play with software. Make a backup of each panel (leave them connected as they are) and restore the backups each others after. Best regards, Hristo Mihalev
