Hello all,

I need an advice on connecting HMI to controller over IWLAN.

Controller, lets say S7-1500 with PN interface, connected to IWLAN Access point SCALANCE W774-1

On the other end IWLAN client SCALANCE W722-1 and Simatic HMI (with PN interface) connected to it.

Is this equipment sufficient to achieve what I want? Can I connect HMI directly to IWLAN client (W722-1).

I need to connect 2 seperate HMIs to same controller. Cabling is not possible since places where HMIs should are portable.

Opininions on how this can be done apreciated.

I was talking about basic panel (kTP700 or KTP1200), not mobile one.

KTP panels does have any wireless interface? I think it does not have.

In your question, you have mentioned that cabling to HMI is not possible. Hence, you have to opt for Mobile panel.

Yes it should be possible:

-> The Scalance WLAN Client acts line a wlan gateway and for the Panel or HMI its just an ethernet connection (its not important if its cable or wlan)

We have a Test Network with Accesspoints and WLAN clients (not from siemens ) for testing in the office and it works also.

Yes, I also think it should be possible.  But since i don't have much experience with siemens wifi products you can never be sure.

Yes you are right, never say never

But In the link i posted is an application example which is similar to yours. With the Siemens Scalance Products you will get help from SIemens and it should work.
