Dear chandhaa, it depends on the software version of the 840D sl. If you have software version 2.x you can still use HMI-Advanced as operator interface and your applications will still work. Maybe with minor adaptions. If you have software version 4.x then you need Sinumerik Operate as operator interface. In this case your applications will not work anymore. You need to rewrite them with the new programming package Create MyHMI/3GL , either in .NET or in C++ and Qt. Also the HMI OA option that you have to activate on the control is different. The order code is 6FC5861-1YC41-1YA0 for the latest version available 4.5 SP1 http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/66489105 . The supported programming environment for this version is Visual Studio 2008. If you want to program with C++ and Qt you also need to buy a Qt license from www.digia.com. You will find more information on this when you buy the Create MyHMI/3GL package. |
