I want to set-up an HMI project on a remote station PC and display on it process data of two remote S7-1200 PLCs that are located close to each other but not connected together. There is no internet access on site, so I am thinking of getting access to them over GPRS. From the above discussion and some manuals for CP1242-7 I found some possible configurations, but I am confused. I would like only to display some PLC data on the HMI (not download anything to the PLCs). Is it possible to establish this with the "teleservice communication" that CP1242-7 supports? Or is it compulsory to use this "TCSB" software?

Could a usb stick from a mobile broadband provider (those that support 3G/4G internet connections) in conjunction with a team viewer application be a faster solution? It is possible to install a PC on site so that local personnel can also monitor the process. If somebody wants to monitor the process with a remote SCADA, could that solution be a faster one (so that the remote PC only connects with the local on-site PC through team viewer)?

 If I understand you well, you want to install a PC on the site which is connected to the two S7-1200. This PC will have an HMI running on it where the local operators can have control. You will also install a USB Internet stick to that PC and access it through teamviewer to take control whenever you like.

If that is the cas, then the answer is YES, it will work.

Another case is that you install GPRS modem to each CPU. You need to remotely monitor the CPUs through a remote PC. This PC should have Internet access, but I thinks you need a static IP connection on that PC.

 You should create VPN CONNECTION then you can ping your device remotely,once you ping your device properly you can monitor your PLC data. And control also from HMI.
