Mishal11 Posts: 69 Rating: (0)	Hi Folks I got a HMI made by weinview that I am trying to connect to a S7-312CPU via MPI, the manufacturer is saying in the manual that only the HMI has to be configured to control the PLC inputs and outputs, but i don't see how this should work ?, shouldn't the PLC also be configured ? The HMI model number is weinview MT6050i

Just define "MPI Address" and "Baud Rate" of PLC (if necessary then Rack and Slot number of CPU may need to be define) in HMI Configuration setting perfectly. .

dchartier Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 3/23/2025 Posts: 12344 Rating: (2707)	Hello all; From the Weinteck website, the datasheet of the MT6050i: http://www.weintek.com/Download/MT8000/eng/DataSheet/i_series/MT6050iV2WK_DataSheet_ENG_110512.pdf It is stated: Com1 RS485 supports MPI 187.5K So basically, the MT6050i can act as a MPI master, simply connect to the CPU's MPI port with a RS-485 cable (prefered, Profibus cable and connectors) and follow the instructions for tag inport and connections from this manual (page 838): http://www.weintek.com/Download/eMT3000/eng/UserManual/PLC_connection_guide.pdf Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier
