When I try to start WinCC flex 2007 (HF4) I got the following message. "HmiSmartStart.exe has encountered a problem and need to close" What to do? |

I deleted Wicc and run the Ceanup tool. Then I made a new installation and got the same problem. |

Sorry this post is a little late, but it may help someone else out. I found out that I had problems with Microsoft .NET Framework. Instead of reformatting your whole computer, I would try to uninstall all of the .NET Framework installations from your machine and then re-install them. BEFORE UNINSTALLING: Note down all versions of .NET Framework that you have installed and use option 2 on to this webpage:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923100(nice automated removal). When you finish, go back to the same page and download all .NET Framework files you need to reinstall. Don't worry about downloading service packs though - let windows update get you back up to speed. Hope this helps someone!
