So please check Profibus connection, profibus cable, termination switch position on profibus connectors. You may refer SIMODRIVE 611 universal SIMODRIVE 611 universal E, Control Components for Closed–Loop Speed Control and Positioning manual chapter 7.3 for fault & details information. HTH

ywsmc Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	thank you... the bzmanual tells that the slave is interruped in the electrical cabinet. last week when this started i disconnect the cable and made sure i had a good connection at the terminals. after reconnecting the machine ran correctly for a couple days then the error re-appeared is there somewhere else that can be causing the error other than the connector to the electrical cabinet? also this error happens every day at startup...I have trouble getting the machine to connect to the electrical cabinet..somedays fixing it is as easy as using the reset button to clear the error somedays it isn't..could anything other than the connection at the terminal be causing this?

ywsmc Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	here is a picture of the cnc. it's a holzher unimaster 7226. the error started last week. at startup the machines main profibus (simodrive 611u) was not communicating to the seimens inside the electrical cabinet. I was able to clear the error through the reset button on the operator control and get the communication back. I left the machine on over night for fear of losing the communication again at startup. the machine operated properly all week so I shut it down for the weekend. at startup this morning the same communication error was back in the machine. I have checked to make sure the terminal is clean and the wire connection is good at the point where the communication is failing but that did not fix the problem. all the other errors in the machine are the result of the communication to the electrical cabinet failing but I can't get the profibus to communicate with the seimens module Attachment Holz-Her-Unimaster-7226.jpg (237 Downloads)

Check connection of profibus cable shield to connector for proper contact. 2. Check profibus cable shield is not interupted or cut on through out length of cable. 3. Profibua cable must be properly hold/supported & ther should not be tenstion on profibus cable connections. 4. Check proper erathing/grounding of machine & electrical devices, for this refer Siemens guide lines. HTH

You did not answer my questions "What kind of CNC do you have,(Siemens?--840Di or 802D) post a picture of CNC and drive is 611UE? the story of that error?" No picture for CNC, HMI, no picture for a control cabinet. no story of why this 599 error happen It is only one drive has this error or all drive have the same error. Did you try to make new Profibus cable and new connector. ywsmc Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Yes I was able to fix the problem. One of the red toggle switches had slid out of position just enough to disrupt communication even though it appeared to be correct. Once I reset the toggle switches communication was restored and the machine began working properly. I'm including a picture as well. hope this helps Attachment seimens.jpg (232 Downloads)
