SeSa_eng Advanced Member Joined: 11/8/2009 Last visit: 5/16/2023 Posts: 31 Rating: (1)	hi does anybody tell me is it possible to use hot swap with s7-300 CPUs and ET200Ms without profinet. because i read alot off thread about it, every body says diffrent, someone says 'yes i did' otherone says 'no you cant' :) does anybody have a configuration example that is real working in area? i think experts must answer this question fluently and attach HW config examples..and than finish this topics thnks

It is not possible to use hot swap with S7-300 CPUs and ET200M without profinet. As the in case of insert or remove any module OB83 is called. And this OB is not supported by S7-300 CPUs. But there is also a way, or let me call a trick as H-H mentioned once If I/O modules (in the ET200M) are inserted or removed during operation, then OB83 is called. But this OB is not supported by the CPUs of the S7-300 series, because it is not available in the CPU operating system. If the ET200M is configured as standard slave in STEP7 (via the GSD file), then Insert/Remove is possible, because in this case it is not OB83 but OB82 that is called. This OB is supported by all S7-300/400 CPUs Please have a look on thisthread Hope this helps.
