How about PLCSIM with S7-1200 and firmware 4.0 ?

t0mekg321 Posts: 14 Rating: (0)	Dear Mr.Jorsal How about PLCSIM with S7-1200 and firmware 4.0 ? I have project in TIA Portal V13 Update 1 with S7-1200 with firmware 4.0 and Option "Start Simulation" is inactive. In this link :https://www.automation.siemens.com/mcms/programmable-logic-controller/en/simatic-s7-controller/s7-1200/cpu/Pages/Default.aspx I see information: PLCSIM Complete controller station configuration, programming & testing; and no hardware is required! Could you tell me, why I can't start simulation?

Jorsal Posts: 74 Rating: (31)	As Wizard says, the PLCSIM for S7-1200 is still not possible, even with Firmware V4.0 and TIA V13 upd 1. According to: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/84047138 ...PLCSIM is for the simulation of the S7-1500 CPUs... Not for S7-1200 at the moment. The only workaround is to add an extra PLC to your project (or an extra project) with a S7-1500, copy your program to the S7-1500 and test your program using PLCSIM. You might have to be a little careful, as some functions behave differently on the two types of PLC, and some functions only exists in either of them. You may find a comparison list of the functions available for each PLC here http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/86630375 (Warning, in my opinion is the list not totally accurate)
