How can display a LReal value in WinCC?

endiguai Posts: 72 Rating: (1)	How can I display a LReal value in WinCC?. With the IO field I'm not be able to see the value. It return 0.0 but I can't undertand why. Who can help me please? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Split from Read a Modbus TCP/IP Lreal (8 bytes) in Wincc TIA Portal V15.

On the PLC the value is correct (I use a db where I write the data), but in the IO field Im not be able to see the value. Can you help me?

Really, i'm not be able to understand why this appened. You simulated an HMI panel, but i work with WinCC Professional V15.1. I don't think that this influence the visualization, but I conclude that is the only option. If anyone have something to say, please tell me

#dP Posts: 2826 Rating: (690)	Hello. Is the converted LWORD a legal number? Rough test seem to suggest to me that there is a problem. What do you expect to get from the external meter? Can you confirm that the internal LREAL number is what you expect (using a Watch-table)? I do not know the answer to your SCADA question if the LREAL can be displayed. Taking a holistic approach, there might be an alternative, but the number must be legal to start with. How about using a REAL number for display purposes? Using a 64bit is required by the processing but not for the display. A REAL can be a number as big as 1 and 38 zeroes. Keep in mind one furnace for melting cast iron may need 570 kWh/ton. Display in Watt-hour may also not be helpful to the "user" as most states charge for power in kWh. That means the LREAL number divide by 1000, converted to REAL. But this is -only- for the display purpose. Other internal processing occurs as 64bit numbers. Else? Consider strongly to contact the support team at Siemens, as suggested earlier. BR
