How can I backup IOT image by Win32Diskimager?

In IOT2040, if I have several machines to use similar applications, I will plug the SD card from IOT to PC and use Win32DiskImager to read all information in SD into 1 file.

Once I want to duplicate it, Win32DiskImager can write that single file image into another SD card..

But in IOT2050, once we write the image to SD card. Windows Explorer cannot detect it as a drive anymore. As a result, I cannot use Read button in Win32DiskImager because Win32DiskImage also cannot detect SD card drive as well.

How can I backup SD card information by Win32DiskImager? or we have to use another way?

Perhaps I don't know how to use Linux Reader quite well. I just can create an image, but still cannot mount the image to another SD card. If anyone can work with it perfectly, please kindly share the procedure with me.

By the way, I found balenaEtcher (https://www.balena.io/etcher/) is also a good tool to clone IOT SD image to another SD card. You just need to plug both source and destination SD card into the same computer simultaneously because it's a cloning process. Not to save the image to one single file as Win32DiskImager.

one option is to do the clone directly with Iot2050. The target memory card must be same size or larger.

Put micro-SD-card into USB card reader/writer and plug it in one USB slot of IoT2050.

Use "fdisk -l" to list memory and filesystems. In my case the device /dev/sda was assigned to the micro-SD card.

This command will do the clone:

dd if=/dev/mmcblk0 conv=sync,noerror bs=128K status=progress of=/dev/sda

To fix the copy of the partition table at the end of the target memory card, run:

fdisk /dev/sda 

enter 'w' and press enter.

After booting from the cloned card You must check the network settings (some are bound to MAC addresses) and You may run (both optional):

to extend the root filesystem to use free space, and

to generate a new uuid for the root filesystem.

I have just tried to follow your suggestion posted in this post.

I have created an image using LinuxReader and then write this image to a new SD card using Win32DiskImager.

As soon as the process was completed, I tried to run the IoT2050 using the new SD card just prepared but the STAT red leg of IoT is fixed on and IoT seems not working (even if I try to connect via Putty it does not respond).

Have I to do something more?

LinuxReader can create two image file types...one is ".img".

Maybe the problem is related to a small different in SD size...both are 32gb...

Anyway, I tried with another SD but I'm facing the same problem.

I'm trying to work in a different way...I will let you know if I'll success.

also the other way round I was trying failed.

Creating a restore image with LinuxReader from a completed and working SD card and burning the image into a new empty SD card with exatly the same size does not produce to the expected result.

The new SD card has been installed in an IoT device and a few secods later after the power on the STAT led became red, fixed.

There should be something more to do in this procedure to reach the goal, to have a working clone of original SD card.

Can you give me some suggestion?

To be precise, I'm working with a BASIC version of IoT2050 device.
