how can I check ring

Anyway, In a ring, there is a ring manager (fixed designed or elected, depending on your settings). If the ring manager is a switch, there is a RM LED that is lit when the rings is closed, and that is blinking when the ring is open somewhere. A switch has also a log file where you will find entries telling if the ring manager must take action or not.
