How can I connect a unit communicating on RS232/RS422 to a S7-400H node?

Hi I like to make a redundant network with two exsternal units (MRU's - Motion Reference Unit) communicatingon RS232 or RS422 with a redundant S7-400 node. As I can sethere is two alternatives: 1. Tomake the programming part easier,convert the signal to profibus and thenvia Y-link. 2. UseRS422 and make multi drop connection to CP440-1 point-to-point connection cards. You could use alternative 1, with only one redundant network (you don't need two networks in each CPU) with ET200M and two CP 341 in the ET200M
