How can I import data to create trends in my WinCC project.

Pierre_CRP Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hello. I've a lot of data stored into tables : (text files or access database tables) First colomn of eachtable is theacquisition date. Second column of each table is the acquisition hours. All other column are the dataacquiredby a system (other than Siemens and WINCC). I want for each column of data to create a view of trends in my WINCC project. An example of datafile to import is attached to this message . I have WinCC V6 SP4 with connectivity pack and SQL server SP4 installed on my PC. I try with DTS import but I can find the right procedure. Does I create the tags in WinCC project before the import ? So it is no use in this situation. OK. Basically what you want to do has no simple, easy answer but here are a few suggestions : - The Report Designer Editor has a CSV Provider. This takes data from a CSV file and draws it on a trend displayed in a report. Might be useful. More info in the manual - Write a script that reads the data from the file and plots it onto a WinCC Online Trend Control. There is a simple example of plotting data onto a trend via a script in the WinCC Demo Project. You can get this either from the Comprehensive Support CDor the WinCC Demo CD. The first you get when you buy a support contract, the second you can order free of charge from your local Siemens supplier. - Use a third-party trend ActiveX control to view the data. Just do a Google search to see what is available (http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=trend+activex&meta=) - Use the ODK option to write the data into the WinCC Tag Logging system. The ODK is an advanced option for WinCC that contains C functions allowing you to do pretty much anything in WinCC. There are functions that let you write into the TagLogging database. Of course you would need the ODK and a good understanding of ANSI-C for this method.

Pierre_CRP Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hello, Thank you for your answer, but I forgot to say that the data in my text files must be also restored as WinCC archive (tag logging). So I must import those data files to place each variablein WinCC database as a TagLoggingSlow. Is it possible with DTS import/export wizard of SQL server but I don't find the good parametrization. Could you help me ? I thank you very much Pierre

Currently you cannot use the OLEDB provider to write back into the WinCC archives. You can only read from them. To write you have to use either the ODK or OPC HDA (I think). - Using the ODK you can use the function TLGInsertArchivData. - I have never used OPC HDA so do not know the details of how to do this. So you cannot use DTS, you need to use one of the above.
