How Can I import WinCC tags to Step7?

Normally, the process of creating a tagin WinCC involves linking the WinnCC tag with an existing address in the PLC, through the Channel selected for communications. Not the other way around. It's now understandable?

billwest Posts: 510 Rating: (117)	Not totally understanding what you want to do, there is a way to do this. You could use theWinCC Exim program to export the WinCC tags to a csv file. You could format the csv file to conform to the Step 7 Symbol Table layout. You would have to rename the file to the file type accepted by You could then use the Symbol table import function to create the symbols in Step 7. Exim is on the WinCC Installation Disk. Bill

JMJ Posts: 487 Rating: (45)	This makes no sense. How will you create process tags in WinCC without knowing the addresses?Now, you will not know addresses if you do not have it in Step 7 already. The only other posibilty is that you just assigened some address for all WinCC Tags. In that case,you can eitheruse Tag import/export utilty or Excel Config tool to get the tag names in to excel and then copy/paste to Symbol table. Now, if you have created them asinternal tags in WinCC, then you have to change them all to process tags and give them valid addresses, which almost makes it a double job.
