How can I use hotkeys within WinnCC w/o using the hotkey attribute of a button?

The hotkey attribute and keyboard actions work together and (as far as I know) only buttons from the standard object set have these exposed. Regards

Hi ObjectOriëntExpress, Sorry, but I still cannot visualize your application! A hotkey (or a shortcut) is keyboard substitute for a mouse-click. And a mouse-click is usually on a button or some other object (like a motor). For a button the hotkey+keboard action functionality is built-in. For other objects this functionality can be incorporated into the customized object (by including a "dummy" button). Regards, Phantom75

ObjectOriëntExpress Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hi Phantom, Say I do not have a window that is always active, and I want to open the diagnostic screen by a hotkey. Then I have to put a 'dummy' button on every window as well as on every new window. I do not want this. In some scada software you can monitor 'hotkeys' without having to put a button on the screen. Maybe you do notwant to call this a hotkey, but this is what I'm looking for. Beste regards,

I agree with you Phantom. I create a picturewindow in i.e. @Overview1 or @buttons11 and have this opening my own customized @hotkeys.pdl. In this pdl I have all my hotkey functions. In this way I have easy access to all my hotkeys in one place and it is fast and easy for me to modify and have an overview of the used hotkeys. It is not seldom that various customers have various opinions about hotkeys. It is even possible to have users specific hotkeys by having a hotkey file for each logged in user
