How can I use VBA for detect Events in RunTime?

Tasss Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hi, I'm new in this forum. My Question is: How can I use VBA for detect Events in RunTime? When I am programing in VBA,it justdetectthe document's event. How can I detect for example, a button's clickin RunTime. I'm sorry, but my english is very bad. I can't explain very well. thank you.

Tasss Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	I want detect the button's click in VBA. I need show one UserForm, made in VBA, when user click button in RunTime. Because I have a problem when use a Control OCX in Graphics Designer. However,the same Control, work perfect in VBA. Than you, to answer so fast

Salma Gold Member Joined: 9/27/2005 Last visit: 11/27/2007 Posts: 1398 Rating: (151)	WinCC supports both VBA and VBS. VBA can only be used within the Graphics Designer. VBS can only be used in Runtime. You should not confuse the two. To detect events in Runtime you should program VBS ( or C or Direct Connect ) scripts on your objects. Every object on your screen has a set of properties and events that you can view by right-clicking on the object and selecting Properties from the menu. From the properties window you can find the correct event and program your script against it. To create forms I would recommend you use the PictureWindow object. This allows you to create "pop-up" type windows. There is lots of information on PictureWindows on this forum, in the FAQs and in the WinCC manual. I hope this helps, Salma

I know you can insert forms in VB, but I don't know about using forms like this in WinCC in runtime. Is it possible, Salma? If it isn't, thencoulda picture window or an ActiveX control could cover the functionalities you need, Tasss?

Tasss Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	I have the same problem, so when inserted control OCX of “Parallel Grafhics Cortona” when desactivate the runtime leaves the following error: (see picture). And the text say: WinCC reported exception with code: C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION // Date: 29.01.2007 - Time: 08:51:48 // Caused at logical address 73D575E9 01:000065E9 //==================================================================== // FAULTING MODULE: C:\WINDOWS\system32\MFC42.DLL //==================================================================== I don't know why produce this erro when I desactivate the runtime. For that reason I try do it the same in VBA. In VBA this control works well. thanks also. Attachment Error.JPG (244 Downloads)

Salma Gold Member Joined: 9/27/2005 Last visit: 11/27/2007 Posts: 1398 Rating: (151)	I don't think you can use VBA forms in WinCC Runtime [:(] Some ActiveX controls will not work in certain ActiveX containers (such as WinCC) and it is to do with how they are programmed. Unfortunately you are using one that doesn't work well with WinCC. Is there another similar ActiveX control you can use instead ? That would be the easiest solution. Salma
