How can load data from EPROM

dear experts in siemens

I faced a problem in data monitoring from my operational panel to PLC. it seems that there is no connection between PLC and monitoring device.it is done by RS3964 protocol. after checking different solutions for detecting the fault eventually I decided to check the safety of EPROM. the data for monitoring is sent by CP 524 via serial port. EPROM is connected to CP module. I tried to load the data from EPROM by PG 740 PLLL but i saw a massage such this "submudule contents invalid"!!!on the other hand when i attempt to load data from an other EPROM by the mentioned PG i could successfully download the data.(the software for getting the back up file from both EPROM is S5 SIEMENS PACKAGE). it seems S5 SIEMENS PACKAGE software is applicable for only make a back up files from EPROM connected to the CPU but not the EPROM connected to the other module like CP 524 or WF470). is there any particular software or solution for getting access to the mentioned EPROMs?
