More TIPs about faceplate inside another faceplates:

• The “nested” faceplate could also be connected to “nested” UDTs.
• That means:
  • UDT “A” contain UDT “B”
  • Faceplate “A” uses Faceplate “B”
  • While Faceplate “A” is connected (interface to) UDT “A”,  the nested Faceplate “B” could be connected to the UDT “A”.UDT”B”.

The attached file contains a visual representation of my needs.

I know that the UDT that is referenced in "Faceplate 1" will automatically go to the "Interface Tag" of "Faceplate 2" which will open when I click on the motor image of "Faceplate 1".
In this case, the UDT transferred between "Faceplate 1" and "Faceplate 2" is the UDT_MOT.
"Faceplate 1" will be on the screen steadily, displaying the motor status. "Faceplate 2" will open as a popup displaying detailed data about the engine.  This works fine.

However, I need to send a different UDT to "Faceplate 3" which will open as a new popup, displaying alarms and faults for the motor in question.

My doubt is:
Using scripts, how can I send a different UDT to the child popup?

As far as i know you cannot send data (the UDT) as an argument while calling (via a script) a faceplate within a faceplate. When calling a faceplate from a faceplate, the tag and property interface will be automatically coupled. If you want to send a different UDT you have to add this UDT to all the parent faceplates interfaces. So all three of these faceplates need the UDT in the tag interface eventough the UDT is not used in the first two faceplates.

In contrary when using faceplate containers you have to link all the tags but even then the second UDT you want to pass to the third faceplates needs to be available in the first two.
