How can we use the PLC Status/Force control in HMI to show/change user variable I/O, DB?

We are using an OPC ua for HMI connected to Old PLC S5. Read / write to PLC is working for configured DB's on screens. My question is how can we use the PLC Status/Force control in HMI to show/change user variable I/O, DB? When the screen that has status/force control is displayed, there are no connections that appear in drop-down.
