How connect OSM TP22 with Simatic NET OLM industrial Ethernet

dugme Posts: 20 Rating: (0)	Hi I have problem with connecting OSM TP22 with Simatic NET OLM industrial Ethernet by FO Cable. It need to be connectedby FO cable not by TP cable. Is it possible to connect that two component by optics and how? I need to connect old system with new one in optical ring. Does it meter if I mix 50/125mm and 62.5/125 mm cables.

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello dugme, I am sure you will not be happy about it but I have to tell you that you can not connect a OSM TP22 with an IE OLM. The cause for this is that the OSM TP22 runs on 100 MBit Full duplex the IE OLM runs on 10 MBit Full duplex. Fiber optical Interfaces are not capable of adjusting themselves to a different Baudrate, as electrical ports are capable of. The Baudrate is also not adjustable by the user, the Baudrate is fixed set by the Hardware. I am sorry, but the only chance is to use a electrical connection. [:cry:] Best regards J_Bell

[:(] But you can couple one of the ITP DB9 ports of the OLMto a OSM TP22 RJ45 port. [;)] There is a cable from DB9 <----> RJ45 {6XV1850-2JH10 for a 2 meter TP Cord 9/RJ45, the 10 meter have the number 6XV1850-2JN10}. [8)]
