With some help I have made a small project in a S7-1500 PLC with both WinCC classic and TIA WinCC Advanced operator interface (CCR & local Comfort panel).

I have added a new setpoint to the PLC for the operator to be able to type in a value / setpoint.

I need to put a faceplate and pop-up for this signal - but I cannot pick it in the pull-down menu. I am guessing that this is because the signal is not in the HMI tag list.

I am pretty sure I did not add all the PLC signals til the HMI list manually - but how do I get my new signal into the HMI system so I CAN pick it. See also attached screenshots. 

Are you really sure? Did you check the number of chars? In your screenshot your tagsname is false.

The tagname in WinCC IS false - is was to "show" that the tag was not in the pull down menu even though DB was in the S7 logic.

I found a workaround by manually adding the tag in the HMI list - but I am convinced there must be a better way.
