I need to make a visualization of positions of some gear levers on a KPT700 Basic Flexpanel.

The visualization has already been made in WinCC 7.4 SCADA and it has to look similar on the flexpanel.

In WinCC 7.4 SCADA the levers have been drawn as lines with a really big circular end but I cannot find this linetype in the basic WInCC so I have drawn the levers with a line and a circle. I have grouped the 2 elements for each lever in order to be able to treat them as one element.

I need the lever to change between black (when the lever is in that position) and (background) grey (when it is not).

But I cannot find the option for dynamic color change for the grouped element - only the to components?

Simple suggestion about what I know. You had grouped it so some settings cant be applied because it is a group of two elements. What you can do is, right click the object you grouped, then go to Edit Group and select the individual elements in the group and there you can assign Dynamic coloring and flashing. Just define for all elements in the group with the same setting and dynamic coloring will work.

Making PNG images with see-through backgrounds, is what I'd suggest. A selection list of images can be constructed where a bit selects the corresponding image.

 I don't really understand this suggestion.

I am sure it is a clever option but I think the simplest is to switch the colors on/off (and this is what is done in WinCC 7.4).

If I cannot "merge" the 2 elements of each lever I can do as the other gentleman suggest and make the dynamic color change on each element - even though that was what I hoped to avoid.

 His suggestion is that you have two different images and can play with visibility option. Not sure whether I understand him right.

If you want dynamic colouring, you can create the same image in some editing software as a single image file and dynamize Color. Didn't tested images with dynamic colouring, but I thuth it may work

 Basic panels don't have Faceplates.

Thanks guys - I will just make identical switching on/off for both elements of each layer.

Primitive but should work. :-D So I will call this park of my task solved.
