As of TIA V16 (Motion Control V5.0), a new Motion Control-instruction MC_SetAxisSTW enables writing the control word of an axis or rather writing the flag for "unconditionally open/close the holding brake" from any Organization Block (task).

We have integrated this new instruction in LAxisCtrl V1.1 to directly open/close the holding brake manually. 

• We recommend to use the LAxisCtrl library V1.1.1 for TIA Portal V16

I was using tlg111 with sina_pos block but now I have to use MC blocks with tlg102. But I was using STW1.12 to open the brake before. I can not do that with tlg102. Is there way to open the brake without enabling the axis? because I want to be able to manipulate the axis with my hands.

Any luck with this? I am trying to do something similar and backdrive my motor but releasing the brake doesn't seem to be enough. I'm putting 2500lbs into the system to move it and it's holding steady. That should be plenty to move my system and i don't see any torque increase on the motor inputs.
