How do I update the FW version in the project

I need to DL a few minor modifications to the PLC but I am informed that the PLC has a newer FW that the project. How do I update the FW in the project to the same version? Download firmware to SD card and follow as above said procedure Regard's S.Rajesh No. And no. The two fellows who answered @xmnj has provided the correct insight. Have a look at the topic again. The PLC hardware has already firmware V4.5. Step7 V15.1 however only goes up to firmware V4.3 in its hardware catelog. This mismatch is not a problem, even if the compiler complains with a warning. The S7-1200 PLC functions as a firmware V4.3 device if the user program is assigned as firmware V4.3. To the next point: It is possible to update firmware in many ways, as of firmware V3.0 of the S7-1200. Though only really useful as of firmware V4.0. Update can be done via memory card (as you mention), Step7 and web server. Note that not all S7-1200s allow you to downgrade the firmware. Later hardware builds only allow upgrading to higher firmware versions. This is not issue, because it auto adapts to whatever user program says it should function as. Helpful?
